This Do-It-Yourself home tanning kit contains step-by-step instructions on how to tan many hides and furs using alum-salt crystals. It is designed so that the whole process will last no more than a week and can be done on a board - no large vats or tubs required. It comes with a fully-illustrated formula book and video to guide you in tanning Elk, Deer, Moose, Goat, Cow Calf, Antelope, Raccoon, Sheep, Coyote, and Fox. It can be used for hair on or leather tanning.
This kit also includes a water-soluble tanning oil that prevents the hide from becoming hard and crusty, leaving it soft and supple without a greasy feeling. To help you further in processing your raw material, it has a hide flesher and specially formulated sand paper, as well as needle and thread. For protection, it has a 4' by 8' plastic sheet, a plastic apron, latex gloves,
and leather dye.
The non-toxic, 100% biodegradable chemicals included in this DIY kit is enough to tan two average deer hides or a small elk.
