In cooperation with our partners in Spain, we are offering frozen raw domestic rabbit faces / masks with two ears for use in making dog chews. The rabbit masks (ears) are a by-product of the food industry where rabbits are rasied for their meat. The rabbits were raised in ethically managed farms abiding by strict European Union laws governing animal welfare at farms in Spain. Typically, 93% of the masks will be white, with about 7% in other natural colors, such as brown, gray, etc. The masks are controlled for any defects and ones with tears are discarded. The masks are shipped intact and are not just the ears, but contain the full face as shown in the picture above. This material is designed to be washed and dried at a processing factory in either Europe or the destination country.

The masks are delivered fresh from the slaughterhouse promptly after slaughtering and are immediately placed in cold storage at temperatures less than -18 degrees Celsius.

We only offer full containers for overseas customners or full truck shipments for within the European Union. It is not economical to offer less than full containers.

Each 40-foot container typically contains 21,000 kgs of frozen faces. These are shipped raw frozen in 40-foot refrigerated containers or by refrigerated truck. 

Each 40-foot container holds 28 European-size pallets per container. Each pallet weighs approximately 750 kgs. The pallets are typically 1,200 mm long by 800 mm wide and 147 mm high for the physical pallet. The blocks of frozen raw rabbit masks are stacked 14 packages high with 5 frozen blocks on each level. The pallet is then shrink wrapped in a protective plastic sheeting

The face / mask pieces average 75 grams to 90 grams per mask with two ears.

There are approximately 230,000 and 280,000 rabbit faces / masks per container. This works out to approximately 460,000 to 560,000 ears per container (one mask has two ears).
