This scrap is a by-product of the fashion industry
and does NOT contain faces and tails, which are sold separately.
The scrap is all natural colors (i.e., not dyed).
The small pieces are from collar production.
They can be as small as 1" by 1". Most pieces are
less than six square inches.
The leg and flank scrap are from the legs, sides,
and bellies. The leg pieces have shorter, dense fur. The
sides and flanks are generally longish strips.
The premium coyote fur scrap is from the center of
the back. This super premium scrap (called Grutz or
ridge scrap in the fashion industry) is long and heavy. We
sort this scrap into small pieces, medium pieces, and large
pieces. See below for photos showing the typical sorts
as it is impossible to give exact dimensions.
Genus and species: Canis latrans.
Coyotes are not an endangered species.
