In addition to the
Tibet Lambskin Plates,
we offer whole Tibet lamb skins. The plates are made by piecing
together hair from the Tibet lamb. The whole skins are just what
they say--whole skins, not pieced plates.
The whole skins are ideal as rugs
or for use by doll makers because the hair will fall in a consistent
manner. The backs of the skins are also clean and can be used to
draw or paint on.
The large skins are about 42" - 48" long and 21" - 24" wide.
The dyed black skins range in size from
42" - 45" long and 19" - 22" wide.
The short hair skins range in size from 18" to 26" long and 10" to 14" wide. One short hair, natural white skin measured 23.75" long by 13.75" wide with 2" long hair, and weighed 0.42 pounds.
The hair length on the large skins and the
black dyed is
approximately 4" long when stretched. The short hair skins have a
hair length of approximately 1.5" to 2" long.
