We offer a variety of grades of angora goatskins from South Africa and Argentina.  Please see pictures and grading and sizing notes below.

Mohair grows continuously. Goats are shorn bi-annually to prevent the animal stepping on its own fleece.

Angora goats are not endangered. The skins are a by-product of the food industry. The animals were not killed just for their skins. There are no export controls on this item.

Grading Notes

There are many different grades of angora goatskins.  Briefly, they are as follows:

Grade Description
Super Deluxe Excellent color, extra long hair (5" or more), good curl.  These are very hard to come by and are available infrequently.

Deluxe Excellent color, very long hair (4" to 5"), good curl.  These are very hard to come by and are available in limited quantities only.  Please click HERE for a picture.
First These have excellent color, 3" to 4" long hair, good curl.

Second Shorter hair, some curled and some straight hair.  Some have good 3" hair length but are not as thick as #1.  Color is good.  Click HERE for a gallery of 2nd grade angora goatskins in stock and ready to ship.  Use your Back button to return to this page.
Sheared These have been sheared so they have short hair (1-2" long).  

Sizing Notes

The initial samples that we looked at were 35" to 39" long on the spine and 26" to 28" wide in the middle.

Cleaning Instructions for Angora Goatskins
